DARTS - Part 2 - Inner Fullness Adjustment for Darted Cups
Welcome to our Darts in Lingerie Series:
This is 4 part series that walks you through everything from how to sew giant curved darts in bras and lingerie but also how to adjust patterns and some basic understanding about the volume and (cone) shape implications specific to bra cups.
Part 1 - How to Sew Giant Curved Darts
Part 2 - Inner Fullness Adjustments for Darted Cups (Quick & Dirty)
Part 3 - Narrow Root Adjustment of a Darted Cup (Mysa Only)
Part 4 - How to Increase or Decrease Projection in a Darted Cup
Here’s a quick and dirty method to increase inner fullness for darted cups. While designed for our FREE Mysa Bralette, the same method can be adapted to other darted cups as well.
Step 1 - Fold or mark pattern piece through the dart point and strap.
Step 2 - Increase the inner fullness by blending a larger size cup at the Center Front (CF) but maintaining the smaller size for all other areas.
Step 3 - Add seam allowances back on.
Keep in mind that fabric plays a HUGE role in shape and support in wireless bras and bralettes. Checkout our primer on supportive bralette fabrics here.
****This is a quick and dirty alteration that won’t yield the same type of result as a full diamond alteration (or an actual seam!) needed for those who need ALOT more inner fullness but works well for cozy bralette type patterns.****
