TUTORIAL - Altering the Momiji Bralette for High Tummies and Protruding Bellies
A quick 2 step tutorial on how to adjust the longline cradle on the Momiji Bralette for a protruding belly. Many of us (myself included) shy away from longline bras for a myriad of reasons from mum tum to acid reflux or simply due to body shape (perceived or otherwise). A longline CAN be comfortable and not cut in by modifying the pattern to FIT your body rather than mold it.
Now, its time to grab your Longline Cradle Pattern piece, scissors, spare paper and tape to get started!
STEP 1: Cut a straight line up the center of your Cradle Pattern piece from the bottom to the point, leaving it connected at the top.
STEP 2: Swing out your pattern piece to extend the bottom band by amount needed (if you made a muslin, you can measure the “gap” at the center front). Slide a scrap piece of paper behind your pattern piece to fill in the space created and tape it down. Be sure to straighten off the bottom line, maintaining the original length of the side seams.
